Join us at WonderCon in San Francisco for a sneak peak at a number of upcoming and in production indie sci-fi films, moderated by our own DJ Bad Vegan (that's me -- I get sick pleasure from writing in the third person plural).

Please join us and tell all your Bay Area sci-fi friends to come on by. Last year, we got swamped; it was standing-room only, so show up early to get a seat!

The most innovative sci-fi movies aren't from Hollywood, but from the exploding indie/DIY sci-fi film movement. Get a sneak peek at clips from upcoming indie sci-fi projects with filmmakers DJ Bad Vegan (In-World War), Henry Barrial (Pig), Kip Rasmussen (95ers:ECHOES) and other special guests.

That's right, we'll even have a small preview clip or two of raw footage from In-World War, the indie sci-fi feature we're working on (currently in post) -- the reason why our posting has been sporatic (apologies for that).

The Man From Earth: 14,000 year-old man tells his story

Legendary sci-fi writer Jerome Bixby (who wrote some of the best known episodes of the original Star Trek and Twilight Zone) finished the script for The Man From Earth on his deathbed. The entire film takes place in a remote New Mexico cabin, devoid of flashy special effects or other CGI staples of modern Hollywood science fiction, this clever psychological minefield is sown by the seeds of sci-fi possibility.

Star Wars Uncut: An ultra-collaborative DIY fan re-make

Star Wars: Uncut is an ambitious feature length fan film that recreates the original film, Star Wars IV (aka A New Hope), shot-by-shot, in 15 second increments, each done separately.

Working as a developer at the video sharing website Vimeo, Casey Pugh became interested in "using the internet as a tool for crowdsourcing user content." We think he hit the mark.

Hunter Prey: Crash landing frees a crafty alien fugitive

Hunter Prey is an awe-inspiring and visually striking space thriller that is all the more impressive when taking the shoe-string budget into account. We saw the first thirty minutes of the film at Comic-Con and it kicked ass.

This is a must-see. If Syfy doesn't pick it up, they're nuts.

Shockwave Darkside: Last humans battle it out on the moon in 3D

We met Jay Weisman at Comic-Con a couple weeks ago, where he was promoting his upcoming 3D feature, Shockwave, Darkside.

Yes, that's right, he's making an indie 3D sci-fi feature. Gutsy.

And to be perfectly honest, once we saw his frakking awesome trailer, we had to make sure indie sci-fi enthusiasts everywhere saw it.
